In 2019, quarterback Aaron Rodgers reminded his Packers teammates that they “Carry the G” wherever they go, meaning they represent the green and gold regardless of where they are.

Since then, CheeseheadTV’s Corey Behnke and Aaron Nagler have taken that advice to heart in their coverage, adding a "Carry the G" segment.

Now the best and most popular independent Packers media outlet has launched a beer, and that too will Carry the G. The cream ale is packaged in cool green and gold 16-ounce cans.

The 5.1 percent ABV beer is brewed and packaged by Milwaukee’s Gathering Place Brewing, which recently announced it has purchased Wauwatosa's Stock House for a second location.

"When the opportunity to work with Gathering Place came up, we met with (founder) Joe (Yeado) and the team and instantly knew that we’d found the perfect partner for Carry the G," says Behnke. "Up until now, Cheesehead TV has been something that people mostly experience on a computer or mobile device.

"Our hope is that Carry the G gives Packers fans an excuse to get together, have a few beers and cheer on the Green and Gold."

Behnke and Nagler announced the beer Sunday in their watch party as the Packers took on the rival Minnesota Vikings in the season opener.

"We're excited to partner with CheeseheadTV on this project," says Yeado. "This wonderfully easy drinking cream ale is the perfect beer for cheering on the Green and Gold. From tailgate to postgame, you'll always be Carrying the G when you've got this tallboy in hand!"

The initial batch is headed straight to Green Bay on Wednesday and Carry the G should begin appearing in Milwaukee stores around Sept. 19. Look for it then at Scout Wine Merchants in Shorewood and other retailers.

"This is a new recipe for us," says Yeado. "It shares some similarities with our Midwest Chill Cream Ale, though we use different hops and a slightly altered malt bill. The result is a refreshing and balanced beer that is just as tasty for the home opener as it will be for the Super Bowl in February."
