Get ready for some great news to start your day: Chill on the Hill is back for 2021.

The beloved Bay View free live concert series, hosted in Humboldt Park, was entirely canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and considering there was no word this deep into the summer, one wondered if the 2021 edition would suffer the same fate. But this morning, the Bay View Neighborhood Association, along with Milwaukee County Parks, announced Chill on the Hill's return to the Humboldt Park chalet, beginning on Tuesday, July 13. 

“We have been anxiously waiting for Chill on the Hill to make its return, and we are excited to present many of the local bands that we had previously booked for 2020,” said Patty Thompson, executive producer of Chill on the Hill, in a release. “Our neighbors need this kind of community connection more than ever, and this event provides the space and place to do that.”

The ten-week lineup – featuring two headliners each Tuesday night, taking the stage starting at 6:30 p.m. – includes:

• July 13 – The Hungry Williams and Eric Blowtorch & the Bodyguards
• July 20 – Long Mama and Cabin Essence 
• July 27 – Holy Pinto and L'Resorts
• Aug. 3 – Yum Yum Cult and Wonderful Bluffer
• Aug. 10 – Fellow Kinsman and Lauryl Sufate + the LOL
• Aug. 17 – Devils Teeth and Decoteau Black
• Aug. 24 – The Midnight Purchase and No Seatbelts
• Aug. 31 – Donna Woodall and The Sunkin Suns
• Sept. 7 – Fressure Point and Fuzzysurf
• Sept. 14 – The Mike Benign Compulsion and Testa Rosa

In order to make sure the event is as safe as possible, Chill on the Hill asks that attendees follow the current CDC guidelines and protocols. The concert series will also expand its footprint in Humboldt Park in order to encourage social distancing, designating the space between The Vine beer garden and the chalet as exclusively for Chillers as well as closing off Park Road between Howell Avenue and Idaho Street to offer vendors more room.
