Last month, we introduced you to the first annual Chords & Curds Festival, the new all-day celebration coming to Fiserv Forum on Saturday, Aug. 24, with proceeds going toward the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Today, however, we learned a little bit more about the chords part of the brand new event's name as Deer District announced the lineup of local music acts performing at the one-day festival.
The doors will open at 11:30 a.m., followed by an opening performance by the Milwaukee Public Schools Community Gospel Choir and a special gospel brunch in the festival's food village. The rest of the day will be filled with tasty local food trucks and performances by:
- New Age Narcissism
- Angie Swan
- Grace Weber
- Christopher's Project
- De La Buena
- Misha Siegfried
- DJ Avets
The exact schedule of when each performer will take the stage has yet to be announced.
"Milwaukee is home to a talented and robust community of local musicians, and we are proud to unveil this stellar line-up of local acts," said Fiserv Forum general manager Raj Saha, in a release. "Chords & Curds will not only showcase some of these gifted musicians, but also help foster future artists as the proceeds will benefit the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music."
Tickets for the Chords & Curds Festival are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com, the Fiserv Forum ticket office and the Milwaukee Bucks stand at the Wisconsin State Fair. Admission is $10 for adults, as well as $5 for both children under 12 and attendees over 65 – with VIP options, including a fast-lane exclusive entrance, a private air conditioned area, unlimited beverages and more, starting at $75.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
