Festival attending on a budget takes focus and solid decision-making. It's easy to blow through big bucks when we don't check in with our inner-banker. That said, there are many ways to have a rich experience at Summerfest on a mere $20.
Here is our idea of the week.
Spend zero dollars at the gate
Every day, there is a way to get into free at Summerfest. And it does not include jumping any gates or swimming in. Here's the full list of the promotions.
Drink during Happy Hour
Summerfest and Molson Coors paired up this year to host a daily Happy Hour from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. During this time, select Molson Coors products are $6. To read about more ways to save on beer, go here.
Drink, eat and carouse
On this plan, there are many food options. We went for the Walking Nachos from El Hefe (across from the Miller Lite Oasis) for $10.50. They were filling and felt like a festival splurge, which is an integral part of the Summerfest experience.
Bonus free idea:
Free kayaking! Black Creek Cheese is sponsoring free, 30-minute kayaking sessions in the lagoon next to Lakeshore State Park every day of Summerfest. Kayak reservations and walk-ups run from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. All participants must wear a life vest and stay in the designated kayaking area. Kids under 12 can tandem kayak with an adult.
