This weekend, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Principal Pops Conductor Byron Stripling will open the season with “Disco Divas.” And it’s gonna be a dance party and sing-a-long sensation to remember.

The celebrated show runs Friday, Sept. 26, through Sunday, Sept. 28, and tickets are still available. The evening includes red-hot performances by the reigning Queens of Disco with powerhouse vocals backed by driving orchestral forces, featuring the music of Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan and Diana Ross.

We can think of dozens of reasons to attend this show, but we somehow narrowed it down to five.

1. The unforgettable tunes

Nothing beats a grand ol’ fashioned sing-a-along, so warm up your vocal chords because this show will not disappoint. Croon along with the disco divas to hits like “Bad Girls,” “I’m Coming Out,” “Lady Marmalade,” “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now,” “We Are Family,” “I Will Survive,” and “She Works Hard for the Money.” The set list also include Disco hits from Earth, Wind & Fire, The Bee Gees, Michael Jackson and more.

2. The ease of it all

Everything needed for a full night of fun – parking, food, drink, dancing – is available in one spot. Beginning 90 minutes before each performance, Indulge Catering Company rolls out bites and cocktails. Or treat yourself to a full meal in the Ellen & Joe Checota Atrium. Click here.

3. The rollback prices

Whereas tickets to Disco Divas might not be ‘70s prices, they are a heck of a good deal for 2025, with tickets starting at just $50. Plus, the concert offers the rare opportunity to hear these songs with a full orchestra behind them.  Check it all out here.

4. The epic after party

Keep dancing at the Disco Divas After Party (Friday night only). 98.3 Jammin' and DJ Don Black will keep the dance floor smokin'. After-party ticket is $20 plus tax and includes one drink ticket. (Add on the after party to your concert ticket in your shopping cart.)

5. The escape

It’s been a week. Maybe it’s even been a year. But it can all fade into the glamour of a musical era sparkling with positivity, indulgence and self-expression. Disco brought everyone to the dancefloor, and it’s time to reclaim the space. Get down and get in on this!
