Today, the Bartolottas took over The Lakeview Market cafeteria on the Galleria Level of the U.S. Bank Building, 777 E. Wisconson Ave., and will begin renovating the space.

The new venture, called Downtown Kitchen, will open at the end of the summer. There will be no food service available between now and Tuesday, July 8.

Beginning Wednesday, July 9, Bartolotta’s will provide a temporary grab-and-go food service in the galleria hallway throughout the construction process.

Construction will take approximately eight weeks and include the installation of new equipment in the kitchen as well as a complete overhaul of the food service and dining areas.

Once open, Downtown Kitchen will offer customers a variety of options for dine-in or carryout including Northpoint burgers, frozen custard / yogurt, Pizzeria Piccola pizza, items from the Oy Vey Deli, sushi, toasted sub sandwiches, salad bar, sandwiches, 100 different soda flavors, Valentine Coffee and local retail items from Rocket Baby Bakery bread, Sprecher products and more.

The dining room will feature market-style wood finishes, new tables, chairs and booths and large TV screens.

The space will include a bar, which will be open periodically for social after-work events. The entire space will be available for private parties hosted by Bartolotta Catering and Events in the evenings and on weekends.

Downtown Kitchen will be open to the public and will serve breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday.
