It's time to officially say "Ciao!" to the summer festival season, as Festa Italiana today revealed its 2023 dates: the weekend of Sept. 8-10.
In addition, Festa Italiana announced that it will keep the ethnic festival at the Italian Community Center grounds at 631 E. Chicago Ave. Festa previously called Henry Maier Festival Park home since 1978, but after cancelling entirely in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, the festival shifted last year from the Summerfest grounds to the ICC and its street festival roots.
"Food, family and tradizione in our own backyard with the charm and intimacy of an ethnic street festival. This is the Festa Italiana experience," reads a Festa Italiana statement.
The 2023 edition will bring back classic Festa traditions including Italian dance, bocce, delicious food, "Italian Idol," and the annual mass and procession. Live entertainment already announced for 2023 also includes Enzo Scarano, Rhythm Kings, Frank Lamphere and His Rat Pack Jazz Quartet, and more.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
