Fresh Baked Cafe, the European-style café and coffee shop which opened in 2019 at 114 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Oconomowoc is extending its reach with a second Brookfield location.
The new cafe, located in the Galleria West shopping center at 18900 W. Bluemound Rd., will serve up a menu of scratch-made fare, including the delectable pastries, tarts, breads, sandwiches and soups for which the Oconomowoc location has become known.
The family business, which got its start selling pastries at the Oconomowoc Farmers Market, is headed up by Chef Jennifer Betances, who spent years honing her baking skills in Europe and perfecting the art of the croissant.
“We’re very happy to be in this space,” notes Betances. “We love the people here, and we hope we’re able to grow and be a part of the community here in Brookfield.”
On the menu
Christina Childers, Betances’ daughter and general manager for both locations, said Fresh Baked prides itself on preservative-free offerings made by hand with high quality local ingredients whenever possible.
The menu includes fresh-from-the-oven classics like Quiche Lorraine, chocolate croissants, and brioche, along with sandwiches served on house-baked baguettes. In addition, customers will find a rotating selection of specials like honey chocolate bread; fig and parmesan croissants; salted caramel croissants; chocolate cherry pistachio brioche; and honey plum muffins along with the soup of the day.
Coffee-lovers will also find a full espresso bar with drinks made from house-roasted coffee beans.
"We are extremely happy to have Fresh Baked Cafe join us at Galleria West,” said Galleria West Managing Partner Bill Bode. “An established, very high-quality bakery, coffee shop and cafe, they are a great addition not only for the shopping center but for the community we serve."
Fresh Baked is open for breakfast and lunch for dine-in, takeout, or curbside pickup with hours Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Orders (including items fit for celebrations and parties) can be placed up to a day in advance by calling (262) 879-8002. Guests can find specials posted on Facebook or at freshbakedcafe.com.
