The temperatures may be headed toward freezing, but Milwaukee is boiling over when it comes to fun ways to keep warm – from the Lux Domes on top of Benelux to the ice bars carving into place both behind the Milwaukee Public Market and the East Side's Black Cat Alley.
And now you can another cool way to chill out this winter season with Nomad World Pub's upcoming Frozen Toe Winter Block Party, thawing out Brady Street on Saturday, Jan. 19.
From noon until 8 p.m., the corner of Warren and Brady will be the hottest place in the cold, keeping things toasty with fire pits, heaters and live music from Platinum Boys and Dogs in Ecstasy along with DJs Mikey Fast Life and Miguel Corazon spinning in between sets and keeping the thermometer up.
Of course, throughout the festivities, the Nomad will also serve up plenty of the ultimate cold-weather heat insulation: alcohol! Including some served up in that most wintery of delivery vessels, the shotski.
For more information on the Frozen Toe Winter Block Party, visit the event's Facebook page – and we look forward to seeing everybody bundled up on Brady Street!
OnMilwaukee is a proud event sponsor.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
