Hey. Sorry it's Monday – but here's something good: German Fest is returning this year, heading back to the lakefront on Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31 to finally ring in its 40th anniversary.
The annual celebration of German culture and cuisine cancelled its 2020 and 2021 edition due to COVID concerns. This year, however, the festival is back along with performances from Austrian hit band Schürzenjäger and The Freistadt Alte Kameraden Band, traditional dancing for young and old, the Dachshund Derby race, interactive cultural and historical experiences, the Battle of the Mascots featuring many of your favorite local foam-faced fanatics and much more. Plus, at 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, German Fest will light up the summer night with fireworks.
German Fest joins a plethora of summer festivals and live music events making their return in 2022 – including Brady Street Festival, Pride Fest, Summer Soulstice, Bastille Days and more.
Tickets for German Fest are on sale currently, costing $15 for adults, $7 for seniors and students with a valid ID. Friday tickets cost just $3, while a pass for all three days of German Fest is $21. For more information on the festival, or to purchase tickets, visit German Fest's website.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film.
