A unique musical opportunity will take place this week in Milwaukee’s newest jazz club, Gibraltar. On Wednesday, Feb. 22, La Tiranta will take the stage with singer Patrica Nuñez, guitarist Ricardo Diaz and dancer Lily Sie for a flamenco show.

La Tiranta, whose members now reside in Chicago, regularly performs at venues throughout the Midwest, but this is the group's first Milwaukee engagement. The show will include traditional flamenco songs and dance.

Nuñez was born in Córdoba, Spain in 1987 to a very musical family. From an early age, she worked with different musicians and artists from her city and later moved to Granada to study musical production and begin her flamenco career.

In 2016, she opened the Chicago Flamenco Festival at the Instituto Cervantes and performed in New Mexico in with the Adriana Maresma flamenco company.

Nuñez is also part of the project, "Ruta De Los Bandoleros," in Alameda, Malaga, and performed with Paco Fonta, Pol Vaquero, Carmela Greco, Raquel Heredia, Adriana Maresma and more.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8. There is a $10 cover. The event is predicted to sell out, so arrive early.

"People will feel the pureness of the flamenco passion," says Nuñez.
