With Lent arriving, Good City Brewing is taking its popular Friday fish fry to the streets.

Beginning this Friday, you can get your fish fry fix via a drive-thru at Good City’s East Side parking lot, 2108 N. Farwell Ave.

Online preorders for the drive-thru start every Friday during Lent at 8 a.m. with pickup between 4 and 8 p.m. In-person dining remains available, too.

Good City knows a thing or two about drive-thrus. Last spring it ran a beer drive-thru in a former bank at Mayfair Mall.

For this lenten fish fry drive-thru, you can choose between two- and three-piece cod dinners with crinkle cut fries and coleslaw. Custom coloring sheets and kid friendly beverages will also be available for the little ones.

“Our Lenten Friday Fish Fry is typically a festive family affair at our East Side taproom with live music, fresh beer and fish,” said co-founder Dan Katt. “As with most things, the pandemic has forced us to adapt towards facilitating more at home experiences.

“The drive-thru is a way for us to maintain some semblance of normal as we all continue to work together towards curbing the pandemic.”

Best of all, most Fridays, Good City will also have at least one special beer release during Lent, so you can boost your at-home fry with a tasty new brew.

On this first Friday, Feb. 19, there will be two new installments in Good City’s small-batch Indigo Series.

First up is a wheat double IPA called “Perilous Straits,” and second is “Mounting Suspicion” stout with Pilcrow Coffee.
