The team announced a deal today with Ahman Green, who played with the Packers from 2000 through 2006.
Green went to four Pro Bowls during that stretch, while becoming the Packers' all-time leader with 10,870 yards from scrimmage and 33 100-yard rushing games. He gained 8,162 rushing yards and just 46 more yards to surpass Jim Taylor to become the franchise's all-time leader.
After agreeing to a four-year, $23 million deal, Green played the 2007 and 2008 seasons with Houston but knee injuries limited him to just 554 yards and five touchdowns during those two seasons.
Green takes the place of DeShawn Wynn on the roster after the third-year running back was placed on injured reserve. Wynn saw action in four games this season.
