It's time to plan your crew's costumes and get Hallowings on the family calendar, because it's almost time for this spooktacular annual celebration presented by Milwaukee's kite giants, Gift of Wings.
When and where is Hollowings?
Hollowings returns to Gazebo Park in the Historic Downtown Greendale Village from Tuesday, Oct. 21, through Sunday, Oct. 26. The fun happens Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.; Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Here are all the happenings during Hallowings:
- Guests can carve a free pumpkin to contribute to Gift of Wings' illuminated pumpkin display that, by Halloween, showcases 500 pumpkins!
- Games include pumpkin Bowling and Gourd Golf.
- The Gift of Wings Grill will serve up brats, hot dogs, burgers, hot chocolate, ice cream and apple cider mini donuts made on-site.
- Live music takes place Thursday through Sunday.
- Spooky kites and spinners will fly in and around the Gazebo.
Pumpkins Over Greendale
Pumpkins Over Greendale is set for Saturday, Oct. 25 at Greendale High School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can partake in catapulting and smashing pumpkins just for the fun of it and attempt to break the 250-foot record.
The Hallowings Halloween Parade
The Halloween Parade is Sunday, Oct. 26, at 3:15 p.m. There will be many floats in the parade, including a replica of the Ghostbusters Car, Ectomobile, Ecto-1. A costume contest will take place following the parade. Free candy will be available for participating kids.
