On Thursday, March 13 Corvina Wine Co., 6038 W. Lincoln Ave. in West Allis, is hosting a very special evening-long wine event celebrating the Tuscan wines of Il Boro, a thousand-year-old hamlet in the heart of Valdarno, Italy that holds fast to tradition, culture and sustainability.
Salvatore Ferragamo, one of two siblings who manage the 2700-acre Il Boro Estate, will be in town for this special engagement to engage with attendees and share information about the estate’s history, organic growing practices, dedication to biodiversity and the unique terroirs that allow them to grow a diverse selection of grapes for wine-making.
Guests can drop by between 5:30 and 9 p.m. to chat with Ferragamo and sample five Il Borro wines. He’ll be signing bottles throughout the evening.
During the event, guests will be able to taste five selections from Il Borro including:
- 2021 Chardonnay - aromas and flavors of lemon, chamomile, honey, black tea, sage and toast, medium acidity
- 2023 Lamelle Bianco - aromas and flavors of lemon curd, lemon zest, peach, nectarine, almond, orange blossom, bursting minerality
