The wait is nearly over for Jose’s Blue Sombrero, which will open at 7615 W. State St., in Wauwatosa, at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 9.

It’s been a long haul for the restaurant, for which plans were announced in November 2016.

The fully re-envisioned space, which boasts a beautiful second floor patio with a view of State Street, showcases a menu that combines authentic flavors from several regions of Mexico with locally procured ingredients and Wisconsin flair.

Signature offerings include table-side guacamole, the El Tornado cocktail (featuring layers of frozen margarita and sangria) and the Monday Taco Boom. Customers in Tosa will also be able to enjoy occasional live mariachi while dining.

DeRosa Corporation owns and operates eight restaurants in southeastern Wisconsin, including three Chancery locations (Mequon, Pleasant Prairie and Waukesha), four Jose’s Blue Sombreros (Racine, Brookfield, Fox Point and Tosa) and Parkside 23 in Brookfield, a farm-to-table restaurant which grows and serves specialty produce from its 10,000-square foot farm.

Beginning Monday, Jose’s will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
