I'll be honest: These lists of Netflix departures have been pretty boring lately. Thanks to all of the Big Red Streaming Monolith's competition taking back their movies and TV shows, leaving the service with a husk of its formerly massive library, there just haven't been many departures to report on most months. So I've been left with mostly short and skimpy lists that mostly just anonymous unknown names like "Outback Truckers" or "Dragonheart: Vengeance." I wish I had more to say!

Cue a monkey paw ominously curling ...

Indeed, the newly announced list of April departures isn't long – but it's got some rare, pretty significant losses for the Big Red Streaming Monolith. For one, the streaming service will lose yet another of its comedy comfort food staples with all seasons of "New Girl" becoming old news on Netflix. First the likes of "Friends," "The Office," "Parks and Rec" and now "New Girl"; Netflix may pride itself on its originals but it's the syndicated stuff that keeps people actually watching and subscribing – and they're running out.

That includes "The IT Crowd" as well, the smash hit workplace British comedy featuring Richard Ayoade, "What We Do in the Shadows" star Matt Berry, "GBBO" co-host Noel Fielding and "Bridesmaids" co-star Chris O'Dowd that became a cult hit here on this side of the pond – in no small part thanks to Netflix, where the sitcom's been found seemingly for most of the streaming service's existence. So that's another light, breezy, fan favorite comedy comfort watch lost from the Netflix library to be found ... somewhere else. (Where? Not sure. According to JustWatch, it's otherwise only available to buy on Amazon or Google Play.)

And that's all not including other hit movies and TV shows like "Road to Perdition," "Den of Thieves," "Scott Pilgrim," "Hush" and "Ash vs. Evil Dead" bailing as well during the upcoming month.

Anyways, while I suddenly find myself missing and praying for those boring lists from before, here's the full list of movies and TV shows leaving Netflix in April.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
