November may host Thanksgiving, but I'm not in a particularly thankful mood after reading over Netflix's list of departures for next month.

Some of my favorite movies of the past decade will all find greener pastures away from the Big Red Streaming Monolith, from the uber-charming music doc "Bathtubs Over Broadway," to the ferociously intense Nazis versus punks thriller "Green Room," to the haunting serial killer drama "Zodiac," to the hypnotically slick crime drama "Drive." Even "Moneyball" is leaving – and it just got here! You can't leave right as baseball's about to end! Somehow this is the St. Louis Cardinals' fault.

And speaking of short turnarounds, "Ocean's 11" will arrive on Nov. 1 ... only to leave with the rest of the trilogy at the end of the month. Even Danny Ocean couldn't make something disappear that fast.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
