We may be approaching the season of giving, but the Big Red Streaming Monolith won't be entirely embracing that festive spirit next month as Netflix revealed its monthly plethora of movies and television shows leaving the service.

It's quite a cornucopia of cuts coming to Netflix in November – including award-nominated indie gems ("A Single Man," "Fruitvale Station"), ridiculous retro blockbuster fun ("Waterworld," "A Knight's Tale"), Best Picture winners ("Million Dollar Baby") and cackle-inducing comedies like "School of Rock" and "Pineapple Express." That last one, by the way, will at least be around through Thanksgiving – in case you didn't have the munchies enough during this season of big holiday spreads. And speaking of feasts, be sure to watch John Travolta and company make an absolute ten-course meal out of the scenery in the sci-fi turkey "Battlefield Earth" while you can. (Or maybe not; you wouldn't want to lose your appetite around this time of year.)

As for bingeing your way through TV shows, there may be plenty of exciting new stuff coming to Netflix in November, but don't forget the leftovers. If you haven't gorged your way through the pop musical "Glee," the sci-fi favorite "Stargate SG-1" or the tense British detective drama "Broadchurch" yet," time to dig in now before the streaming service tosses these shows out. ("Broadchurch," in particular, is an often grim but great mystery thriller, starring some top-notch work from David Tennant and Oscar winner Olivia Colman.)

Anyways, I'm out of Thanksgiving-related workplay – and you're running out of time to check out these movies and television shows on Netflix, so without further ado, here's the full menu of departures next month on the Big Red Streaming Monolith. (Oh, look at that; I had one more!)

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
