Milwaukee Public Museum will restart its monthly Kohl’s Thank You Thursday on March 18, offering free onsite admission to visitors that day.

Kohl’s, which has supported the free admission program at the museum on the first Thursday of every month since June 2015, also helped MPM provide online programming for students, teachers, families and others during the pandemic shutdown.

“We’re very grateful for Kohl’s support,” said Dr. Ellen Censky, museum president & CEO. “While we were closed, they were incredibly flexible allowing our funding to be moved to support virtual efforts.

“Now that we’re able to safely be together in-person, they are continuing to support us bringing people into the building to experience what MPM does best, a blend of authentic artifacts and specimens, immersive exhibits and creative and unique programming.”

While will be free, reserved time slots are required and can be made up to one week in advance online at mpm.edu or calling (414) 278-2728.

Watch for me to do a Facebook Live (via the OnMilwaukee Facebook page) museum walk on Thursday, March 18 from the Milwaukee Public Museum.

Visitor capacity will be limited and tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Safety measures, including timed entry, social distancing, a ban of food and beverages (besides bottled water), mandatory masking and one-way paths through exhibits, will also be in place.

During March’s the museum is offering fun dinosaur programming and activities at mpm.edu/curiosity, which will continue to offer online resources for those who prefer virtual visits for now.

Kohl’s and its Kohl’s Cares merchandise program have supported the museum with more than $2 million since 2009.
