The summer movie season may be over, but at least there will still be some new blockbusters over on Netflix according to the company's latest monthly announcement of the service's latest additions. (And thank the heavens considering how many are also leaving in September.)

Big school epics such as Peter Jackson's "King Kong," "Pearl Harbor," "Scarface" and "Unforgiven" will all head to your small screen next month, along with comedy hits like "The Breakfast Club," "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" and "Role Models." And if you want to live our your own version of "Groundhog Day" by watching "Groundhog Day" every day, well, you'll be able to to do that too.

Disney will politely take a break from snatching all of its movies away from the Big Red Streaming Behemoth for its own in-progress service to actually hand a few over – including "Black Panther," "A Wrinkle in Time," the first (and only good) "Pirates on the Caribbean" and "Lilo & Stitch." Watch them while you can, because I'm sure they'll leave Netflix in just a few short months. Plus, just in time for Halloween, "The Witch" will scare its way onto your accounts midway through September.

As is growingly becoming the norm, the stars of the show are the Netflix Originals. Barb from "Stranger Things" will be resurrected into a teen rom-com star in "Sierra Burgess Is a Loser," while the latest thriller from Jeremy Saulnier, "Hold the Dark" will also make its premiere on the streaming service. He's only the director of the best movie of 2016, "Green Room," so give it a watch on Sept. 28. And while we're on the topic of great things, "True Detective" season one director Cary Joji Fukunaga will make his return to television with the star-studded, bonkers-looking "Maniac." And if you've been waiting for the second season of "Making a Murderer," too bad because you're getting the second season of "American Vandal" instead. Honestly, that's a much deal anyways.

Matt Mueller Culture Editor

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
