Sure, I'll dunk a stack of shortbreads in my coffee or eat an entire sleeve of Thin Mints (especially if they're straight from the freezer) without hesitation or shame, but this year my sweet tooth's got its money on the new Adventurfuls.

The latest confection in the troupe is described as “indulgent brownie-inspired cookies topped with caramel flavored creme with a hint of sea salt."

This sounds sweet, savory, slightly crunchy and gooey all at the same time – definitely in line with rich, decadent classics like Samoas/Caramel Delites or Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs. (The names of Girl Scout cookies depends on which of the two official bakeries made them.)

Lots of Girl Scout cookies have come and gone, including the long-running, citrus-flavored Savannah Smiles (meh) and the flash-in-the-pan-but-still-missed-by-me Dulce de Leche. But I have high hopes for these new Adventurfuls and have the Girl Scout cred to back up my predicition of deliciousness. (By cred I mean I have a green Girl Scout sash in a box in my basement that's adorned with cookie-seller badges.)

But regardless of which biscuit is your most beloved, supporting the Girl Scouts is always a good idea. The inclusive organization is steeped in tradition but also always adapting to the times, from redefining leadership to gluten-free cookies.

Girl Scout Cookies will be available from Feb. 1 to March 31, 2022 in southeastern Wisconsin. Not sure how to get the cookie hook-up? We got ya:

  • If you know a Girl Scout, reach out to her to find out how she’s selling cookies (online, at virtual cookie booths, etc.).
  • If you don’t know a Girl Scout, there are a few options to order cookies:
    • From March 4 – March 27, Girl Scouts will begin selling at cookie booths in participating public locations around southeastern Wisconsin.
    • Visit www.girlscoutcookies.org, text COOKIES to 59618*, or use the official Girl Scout Cookie Finder app for free on iOSor Android devices to find socially distant or contact-free cookie booths if they are available in your area.
    • Beginning February 18, enter your zip code into the Girl Scout Cookie Finder at www.girlscoutcookies.org to purchase from a local Girl Scout troop online for shipment to your door or to donate cookies to local causes.
    • New this year, Girl Scouts has partnered nationally with DoorDash; cookie orders via DoorDash will begin on March 4 in southeastern Wisconsin at select locations. More details will be provided at gswise.org/cookies soon.
