There's a cornucopia of new titles headed to Netflix in November, but the most notable thing is what's departing: the concept of satire!

Indeed, rest in peace, parody; you had a good run, but it's well over now that Netflix has turned its dark satire about desperate people competing in ghoulish kids games for money, all for other's amusement ... into an actual game show about desperate people competing in ghoulish kids games for money, all for other's amusement. That's right: "Squid Game" the grim television show has now turned into "Squid Game" the actual game show, letting contestants eaglerly role-play that part where people got brutally murdered playing "Red Light Green Light." At least Netflix is striking while the iron's frosty cold. (Is it just me, or does "Squid Game" feel like 75 years ago?)

Thankfully, there's more coming to Netflix in November beyond a funeral for satire. Scott Pilgrims both old (the Michael Cera live-action favorite) and brand new (a new anime adaptation) will burst into action on the Big Red Streaming Monolith next month, for instance, along with retro cult favorites "The Big Lebowski" and "Desperado." Streaming screams "Drag Me to Hell" and "Insidious: The Red Door" will hit the service just in time for Not Halloween – while if you prefer screaming with laughter, comedy hits "13 Going on 30," "Pitch Perfect" and "Sixteen Candles" will chuckle their way onto Netflix. And no big deal, but two of the best movies from the past 15 years – "Whiplash" and "The Social Network" – will join the streamer's ranks as well.  

That's all before mentioning the Netflix Originals getting served up this Turkey Day – most of which a part of the streamer's awards season onslaught, including the Jodie Foster/Annette Bening swimming drama "Nyad," the dark David Fincher thriller "The Killer," the Colman Domingo-led political biopic "Rustin" and the latest season of the monarchy mega-hit "The Crown." And as for the complete opposite of awards bait, there's also a fresh season of the real estate reality soap "Selling Sunset." Oh, and Netflix is getting into the live sports game ... with a fake sporting contest pitting F1 drivers and PGA golfers against one another in a random golf friendly. Well, uh, your live sports efforts can only go up from here, Netflix!
