Your guide to having a great summer is brought to you by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino and Peoples State Bank.

The Glendale Root Beer Bash is back this year and for the first time it will take place at Bayshore. Plus, this year will be custard instead of ice cream!

The all-ages event, presented with Welcome to Glendale and Sprecher Brewing, takes place on National Root Beer Float Day – naturally – which is Aug. 6, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The bash features a Kids Dance Party at 11 a.m., plus live music Cold Sweat and the Brew City Horns at 2 p.m. and Block Party Band at 5 p.m., a kids petting zoo, a tie dye tent, free goody bags to the first 500 attendees, art and artisan vendors, food trucks and more.

Also on tap is Sprecher Brewing Company’s attempt to give away the most root beer floats and beat the Guinness world record. It attempted the same in 2020 as you can see here.

Also new this year, Cedar Crest ice cream is being replaced with frozen custard from the new Culver's location at Bayshore.

“Root beer floats have always been a Culver’s staple, and this event is a perfect fit for the summer,” says Culver's of Bayshore General Manager of Colby Wilkerson.

“Culver’s started in Sauk City, Wisconsin, where it’s still based and family owned. Sprecher is a great local company with the world’s best root beer, so let’s celebrate together with our signature frozen custard!”

Parking is free and so is admission, but guests are asked to register to ensure that there’s enough root beer and ice cream to go around. Last year more than 3,000 families turned out!

“We are so excited to partner with these great Glendale organizations on one of the community’s most anticipated summer events,” says Welcome to Glendale xecutive Director Becca Garrison.

“What’s better on a hot summer day than heading over to BAYSHORE to enjoy live music and a free and delicious Sprecher root beer float.”

“We can’t wait to see all the smiles at the festival with so many exciting activities to do from community art projects to a wide array of entertainment and food trucks,” adds Bayshore Marketing Manager Brenda Vento.

“There’s something for everyone in our communities to enjoy.”
