Brady Street is about to get a brand new bar and restaurant, and it promises to be unlike anything else on the block.
Saint Bibiana is slated to host its soft opening on Wednesday, June 2 at 1327 E. Brady St.
The restaurant, which will occupy the space formerly inhabited by Waterford Wine & Spirits, is owned and operated by Jeno and Lorenzo Cataldo, the owners behind Brady Street venues including Dorsia and Jo-Cats Pub.
“The building was rebuilt from the inside out, with the goal of making it look like a little East Side church,” says Jeno Cataldo, “And we’ve really worked hard to give it a vibe that’s really different.”
The venue is named for Saint Bibiana, a martyr sometimes known as the patron saint of hangovers. It is said that, upon her burial, a plot of mysterious and magical herbs grew up around her grave. These herbs were used to treat a wide variety of common ailments, including hangovers.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that Saint Bibiana will have two bars: one on the first floor astride the dining room and another on the second floor mezzanine where the venue will also host live music and events.
As for the menu, Cataldo says the emphasis will be on quality items.
“Our offerings will be about food done well and presented beautifully,” he says. “We’ll start off with an extremely limited menu, including items like burgers and chicken sandwiches. But we’ll expand from there.”
Ultimately, he says, Saint Bibiana will serve all day, with breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night options. But for now they will start off slowly and deliberately. Lunch will be added first, followed by breakfast down the road.
“We are very fortunate to open a new business when the restaurant industry is in rough shape and still recovering from the pandemic,” says Cataldo. “It’s taken a lot of hard work to get the place ready for opening, and we’re excited to finally share this new business venture and creative menu with our community.”

Initially Saint Bibiana will be open 5 p.m. close and noon to close on weekends, with hours expanding as demand and staffing allow.
