Mayor Tom Barrett, Ald. Bob Bauman, Historic Third Ward leaders and the Department of Public Works will celebrate the completion of the new St. Paul Avenue bridge on Wednesday, June 11 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m.

The ceremony will take place on the new bridge, and the celebration throughout the neighborhood.  The celebration begins at 10 a.m.

The Historic Third Ward Association businesses will celebrate the new bridge opening with free activities throughout the day (weather permitting), including live music and dance, art activities, exercise and yoga classes, displays, mascot appearances and more.

The bridge closed for repairs in September 2013.  Repairs included replacing steel lift spans, adding new concrete deck work and upgrading hydraulic, mechanical and electrical equipment.
