Summerfest 50 has spent the past two weeks announcing its dozens of grounds stage headliners and filling up its prime-time schedule – but there's still been one noticeable empty main stage slot at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.
Until today.
This morning, Summerfest announced that iconic singer-songwriter Paul Simon – along with special guest Brandi Carlile – will hit the Big Gig's biggest stage on Friday, June 30.
Tickets for the show – as always, complete with Summerfest admission – will go on sale starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 28. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Summerfest box office, Ticketmaster ticket centers and Walmart stores, as well as online at Ticketmaster.com and over the phone through either the Summerfest box office, (414) 273-2600, a live Ticketmaster agent, (800) 745-3000, or Ticketmaster's automated ticket line, (866) 448-7849.
The Big Gig will also run a presale for fans who subscribe to Summerfest's email updates and alerts, as well as follow the festival on Facebook and Twitter, running on Thursday, April 27 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. or until the resale inventory is exhausted.
Today's announcement fills out the Amp headliners for this year's Big Gig, but there are still several grounds stage headliner slots unclaimed – plus the rest of the grounds stage performers – so stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more updates as Summerfest approaches!
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
