Your guide to having a great summer is brought to you by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino and Peoples State Bank.

Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. (MWF), producer of Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance, is offering bus shuttle transportation to Summerfest during the nine days of the festival, June 23-25, June 30-July 2, July 7-9, 2022.

MWF is offering the transit operation during Summerfest in fulfillment of its nonprofit mission of bringing the community together and providing a showcase for performing arts, activities, and recreation to the public, through music and special events.  Milwaukee County Transit System is again unable to provide service this year.  MWF anticipates local bar shuttles will be available, as in the past.

Riders are strongly encouraged to pre-purchase round-trip tickets in advance at Summerfest.com to reserve a seat, as there is potential for the service to sell out. Roundtrip fare is $15.00.

There will be five routes offered that will run continuously starting daily at 5:00 p.m.  The routes will pick up and drop off at the following Milwaukee County Park and Ride lots:

  •     Milwaukee/College Avenue Park and Ride (I-43/I-94/County ZZ/College Avenue)
  •     Milwaukee/Holt Avenue Park and Ride (I-94/I-43/US 41/Holt Avenue)
  •     Hales Corners Park and Ride (I-43/I-894/WIS 100)
  •     West Allis Park and Ride (State Fair Grounds – I-94/76th Street)
  •     Wauwatosa Park and Ride (US 45/Watertown Plank Road)

“Our fans have asked for bus shuttle service, and we are happy to be able to provide and subsidize this convenient option again this year for the community,” said Don Smiley, President and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.  “We recommend that fans purchase tickets in advance and join us for the best nine days of the summer at Summerfest.”

Transit Plus, Milwaukee County’s paratransit service is partnering with Summerfest and will also be providing rides for eligible patrons.  To schedule service, contact First Transit at (414) 817-9860 or Transit Express at (414) 264-7433 (extension 3).  Visit ridemcts.com/accessibility/transit-plus to determine eligibility.  Additionally, visitors outside Milwaukee County that are paratransit eligible, should contact Transit Plus for more information.

The Summerfest Shuttle will offer a streamlined and affordable option to get to Summerfest.  The bus service will operate during the nine days of the festival.  Only debit or credit cards will be accepted for payment.  Pre-paid riders must present their online purchase bar code to receive the round-trip ride wristband.

Once paid, all bus shuttle passengers will receive a wristband upon arrival at the Summerfest grounds, which is mandatory to show when getting back on the bus to the park and ride lot. If a rider does not have a wristband after leaving Summerfest, they can purchase one for the full-price fare, if space is available.
