Beer garden season is almost upon us. A little more than a week ago, the South Shore Terrace announced its opening date, with many of the other Milwaukee County Parks-sponsored beer garden brethren quickly following suit. Now, the popular Traveling Beer Garden, brought to you by Milwaukee County Parks and the Sprecher Brewing Company, has announced its schedule of dates for the 2018 season.

Well, almost.

The Traveling Beer Garden will officially open on May 16, but much like how there are movie trailers for movie trailers now, the Traveling Beer Garden announced that it will announce its full city-spanning 2018 schedule on Thursday, April 5, at a special reveal celebration hosted at Juneau Park at 3 p.m.

There, beer garden-backers will find out where and when the suds slingers will arrive this summer – along with the sodas, snacks and live entertainment that come along for the ride – as well as what new events and locations are on deck for this year's beloved four-wheeled foamy beverage dispensers.

Sure, it's a bit of a bummer that we have to wait a little longer for the full Traveling Beer Garden schedule. (Remember: At this time last year, we already knew the list of dates – and even got a bonus weekend of beer garden fun thanks to some unseasonably warm weather.) But hey, anything that makes things feel remotely more spring-like is fine by us.

Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more updates on the Traveling Beer Garden's schedule, as well as the opening dates and details for the rest of the beer gardens. And get excited to glug down another festive Milwaukee beer garden season. Now, if only somebody would tell the weather.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
