After announcing that they’d be joining the fray on Brady Street in January, Twisted Plants has confirmed that they will be opening the doors to their second location at 1233 E. Brady St. beginning on Tuesday, June 7.

Much like their Cudahy location, owners Arielle and Brandon Hawthorne will operate the new Brady Street location as a counter service venue, offering both carry-out and seating for about 30. Guests can also expect a similar menu of comfort food inspired fare, including cauliflower bites, loaded fries and sandwiches.

That means customer favorites like the Up in Smoke (a plant-based burger topped with American style cheese, veggie bacon, onion rings, lettuce, tomato, pickles and special Twisted Smokehouse sauce), plus options like Superbad (jalapenos, cheese, grilled onions and chipotle mayo); the Chopped & Screwed (a vegan riff on the East Coast's chopped cheese) and the Still Smokin', which serves up more than its share of comforting plant-based burger goodness, especially for fans of the classic mushroom and Swiss.

Even more to love

But there will be even more to love at the new East Side Eatery.

That includes a snazzy new venue, which comes complete with a mural depicting a deconstructed burger by local artist Kailey Samolyk of Mix And Splash Art.

It also includes a number of new menu items, from bottled beer, wine and margaritas to plant-based chicken tenders, a brand new menu item which the Hawthornes offered up for taste-testing in Cudahy last week.

Twisted Plants will also continue to offer Scratch Ice Cream in the form of their delicious shakes (and cake shakes). But, thanks to a brand new soft serve machine, they will also be able to offer guests the choice of two flavors of ice cream (chocolate and vanilla) in cups and cones with toppings.

Guests will also have the opportunity to make their mark in the new digs by using chalk paint markers to leave a positive message or simply sign their name on the front of the brand new service counter.

“We’re really excited to be a part of the vibrant Brady Street community,” notes Brandon Hawthorne. “And we’re really happy to be able to offer this community even more vegan options to folks in the area.”

At least the first two weeks, Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with expanded hours Friday and Saturday 11 to 2 a.m.

Interested in working for Twisted Plants? Both locations are hiring for numerous positions, including cashiers and kitchen staff. Serious inquiries can be submitted by email at plantivorellc@gmail.com or send them a message on Facebook.
