According to news released today, the second location of Valentine Coffee Co. is slated to open on Monday, May 1 at 7981 S. 6th St. in Oak Creek.

The Drexel Town Square cafe will be the first of its kind for Oak Creek, offering a full coffee program, as well as a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.

"This café is a culmination of our combined passion and experience in the coffee, food, wine and restaurant industries," noted Joe Gilsdorf, managing partner for Valentine. "We’ve pored over every detail creating this new location, to make it the ultimate gathering place that will enlighten all of the senses."

Chef Bruce Badke, formerly of Distil, designed the seasonal menu, which will feature fresh breakfast offerings like a chile relleno breakfast burrito ($7) and Sconnie breakfast sandwich featuring a Wisconsin brat patty with fried egg, aged cheddar and beer mustard on a pretzel roll ($7).

There will also be salads, shareable cheese and charcuterie boards and sandwiches like the pan bagnat featuring olive oil-packed Albacore tuna, artichoke hearts, haricot vert, roasted red peppers, Kalamata olives, red onion and fresh basil and garlic served up on a baguette ($8).

The grand opening for the cafe will kick off on Friday, May 5, when Oak Creek city officials gather for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m., followed by a special happy hour celebration including champagne splashes. A portion of the day’s proceeds will benefit homeless students in the Oak Creek School district, one of several organizations with which Valentine has a partnership.

"We can’t wait for people to come and experience the flavors, sounds and feel of the café," Robb Kashevarof, founder of Valentine Coffee Co. said. "We look forward to sharing our commitment to top-notch coffee, food and service with the community."

The cafe will officially open to the public on May 1. Hours will be Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
