Although owner Scott Johnson was hoping to open his second Fuel Cafe this summer, he says it will open at the end of January at 644 S. 5th St. in Walker's Point.

"It's going well. We had a late start, but it's all good and moving quickly," says Johnson, who owns the business with Leslie Montemurro and their BelAir Cantina partners, Kristyn Eitel and Chef Noe Zamora.

The Walker’s Point Fuel will be similar to the Riverwest Fuel, which opened in 1993, but have even more of a motorcycle concept because of its close proximity to the Iron Horse Hotel, Harley-Davidson Museum and the annual Mama Tried Motorcycle Show.

"It will be a full-service laptop and latte cafe – like the Fuel on Center Street – but also with a full-service bar and restaurant for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch," says Johnson. "We're still on the fence about weekday breakfast."

Most importantly, the famous Buttafuoco sandwich – which has been on the Fuel menu since the beginning – will also be on the Walker’s Point menu.
