The Wisconsin State Fair will come to an early end in 2025, as Fair officials determined on Sunday morning that the amount of rain sustained on Saturday night and Sunday's forecast would be a hazard.

An update from Wisconsin State Fair on Sunday morning read as follows:

“After last night’s flash flooding resulted in the early closure of State Fair Park, Wisconsin State Fair officials have determined the Fair Park will not reopen for Sunday, August 10. We understand the disappointment you may feel as our team works all year for these 11 days. However, the safety of our Fairgoers, team, partners, and vendors will always be our top priority.

If you purchased tickets to The "Happy Together" Tour for the show this evening through Etix, those tickets will be automatically refunded back to the purchaser.

We are saddened we cannot deliver this final day of the Wisconsin State Fair, but know that this is the best decision with current conditions and the forecast ahead.”

Severe storms on Saturday night caused the fair to close early, as well as the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert on the Bank Five Nine Main Stage to be cancelled. Sunday's closure means that the Happy Together Tour concert on the main stage will also be cancelled. Refunds will be issued through Etix, the ticketing platform of the fair.

Heavy rain on Saturday issued a flash flood warning throughout Southeastern Wisconsin until early Sunday morning, with the fairgrounds closing around 9 p.m. last night. The rain also affected a Thomas Rhett concert at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy as well as the American Family Insurance Amphitheater, where the Big Time Rush concert was ultimately postponed. More rain is in the forecast for Sunday throughout the area.
