Governor Tony Evers and Working Moms of Milwaukee proclaimed that Thursday, March 12 is "Working Moms Day" and will be a new annual celebration from this year forward.
Working Moms of Milwaukee is a community engagement organization where moms connect online and in person to network, socialize and share experiences. On March 12, companies and organizations throughout Wisconsin will honor moms through a variety of special events, promotions and other deals.
"The event is all about raising awareness of working moms in a positive way and recognizing the challenges that moms tackle every day," says Susannah Lago, the group’s founder.
Some of us are still a little eyeroll-y that this year International Women's Day fell on a shortened, 23-hour day due to turning the clocks forward, so this is particularly nice to read.
So hooray for you, hooray for me and can someone please help me to remember to schedule a dentist appointment for my kid and sign up for the plant sale at school? The chances of me remembering with everything else going on this week are slim to none. Thanks.
