Sunday, June 22 is going to be a delicious day on the streets of Walker’s point, with two neighborhood events taking place on the same day.
The first is the first annual Taste of the Third Coast – a local tasting event benefitting the Alliance for the Great Lakes – which takes place from 12-4 p.m.
Hosted by Blue Jacket Bar and Restaurant, the day will feature a pig roast, local music, a silent auction and information booths staffed by community organizations that have a relationship with Milwaukee’s inner harbor locally and the Great Lakes regionally.
The event, which aims to highlight local food and freshwater resources, will include participation from area restaurants including Blue Jacket, Odd Duck, Bavette, Hinterland, c.1880, Sanford, Ardent and Wolf Peach, as well as Amilinda.
Blue Jacket will be serving up two craft punches, and beverage tastings will be available from Great Lakes Distillery, Colectivo Coffee and Central Waters Brewing.
Tickets are $55 and can be purchased online
Also on June 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Braise Restaurant will host their 3rd Annual Garlic Fest on Washington Ave outside of Braise Restaurant, 1101 S. 2nd St.
Prepare to get stinky with garlicky foods prepared by Braise, Black Sheep, Café India, Clock Shadow Creamery, Ginger, Indulgence Chocolatiers, Morel, Purple Door Ice Cream and Wayward Kitchen Co.
Garlicky games, artists and a variety of vendors will be onsite for the festivities, which include a garlic eating contest.
WMSE 91.7FM's Dewey Gill will be broadcasting his Big Band Show live at the Fest, and DJ Dori Zori will spin dance party hits all afternoon. And bicyclists who ride to the event will be treated to valet service provided by Coat in Bikes and Third Coast Inn.
