It's never too early to start getting excited for the Great Milwaukee Summer – and East Town Association would seem to agree, recently announcing the dates for its popular Jazz in the Park music series, Basille Days festival and Storm the Bastille Downtown run.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary this summer, Jazz in the Park will once again hit the stage at Cathedral Square Park on Thursdays in between June 1 through July 6 as well as July 27 through Aug. 31. The full lineup of acts coming to the Downtown free outdoor live music series will be announced as summer gets closer.
As for Bastille Days and Storm the Bastille, the French-themed festival will celebrate its 40th anniversary in and around the Cathedral Square Park area on July 13-16. Storm the Bastille will then kick things off with its traditional 5k on the night of Thursday, July 13.
Jazz in the Park and Bastille Days both made their much-anticipated returns last summer after having to cancel in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more summer festival announcements and updates.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
