Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Dining Month is brought to you by Fein Brothers, your premier food service equipment and supply dealer in Wisconsin since 1929. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted!

With George Webb presumably prepping for a potential free burgers extravaganza Friday night, another Milwaukee burger biz is also catching Brewers fever.

AJ Bombers, 1247 N. Water St., Downtown, and in the Mayfair Collection, 11340 W. Burleigh St., in Wauwatosa, is rebranding as Bernie’s Bombers for the duration of the National League Championship against the Dodgers, which kicks off Friday night.

"AJ Bombers has enjoyed a long partnership with Miller Park and the Milwaukee Brewers," says John Walch, president of Hospitality Democracy, which owns Bombers.

"We’re thrilled about the success of the Brewers this season and look forward to bringing that Miller Park-energy to our AJ Bombers restaurants. Besides, what could be a better way to cheer on the Brewers than a burger, p-nuts, maybe some cheese curds and definitely some custard?"

What does this mean for you?

It means that anyone wearing Brewers gears gets a free cup of original custard or tap beer to during the NLCS.

It means you can order a pretty rad pretzel in the shape of the Brewers’ beloved ball-and-mitt logo, or a Cracker Jack custard concrete (which is also being added to the restaurant’s autumn menu come November) or a Braun Double Bacon Burger with two smashed patties, American cheese, Nueske’s bacon, Bombers sauce, beer mustard cheese sauce, lettuce and tomato.

Additionally, many menu items will be renamed in honor of the Crew during the series, and the restaurants will have the games showing on the televisions (with the sound ON!), too.

Bombers’ sister bakery, Holey Moley Doughnuts in the Third Ward and the Mayfair Collection will offer a special blue and yellow sprinkled donut during the NLCS, too.

I can’t wait to see how Milwaukee businesses ramp it further when the Crew disposes of the Dodgers and moves to the World Series.
