Separated by less than 100 miles, the Brewers and Cubs are always looking for bragging rights over one another. At noon on Tuesday, June 12, the Brewers Wives will add another layer to the I-94 rivalry when they host the Cubs Wives in the first-ever Brewers-Cubs Wives Softball Challenge at Helfaer Field.
The game will help raise money for Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) – a program designed to promote the game of baseball to teenage boys and girls in disadvantaged areas. Brewers players will also be in attendance, assisting with warm ups, base coaching and cheering on the Wives.
Fans can support the cause and join Brewers players as they cheer on their significant others by purchasing a Wives Softball Challenge ticket package. Packages, which start at $52, include entry to the softball game, a Loge Outfield Box ticket to that night’s game against the Cubs at Miller Park and a limited-edition Brewers tumbler. A portion of each ticket package sold will be donated to RBI.
In addition to the friendly competition that will take place on the field, the event will also feature all the beloved hallmarks of a Brewers game, including play-by-play from Brewers commentators, an appearance by Bernie Brewer, a race featuring Brewers children as the miniature versions of the Johnsonville Famous Racing Sausages and much more. Plus, the Brewers Wives will raffle off gift baskets, autographed memorabilia and more to benefit RBI.
The Crew and their wives will need a packed house as they take on the Cubs this June. But before you start trash talking your Chicago-based friends, secure your seat to the game by visiting Brewers.com/ThemeNights.
