The Bucks are in the NBA Finals, the Brewers are leading the NL Central and, in case all of that wasn't exciting enough, you can snag a beer from Brew Crew icons past and present this upcoming weekend.
To help celebrate '90s weekend at American Family Field this weekend, 16 special Brew Crew bartenders will take to the taps at the Ward Bars down both first and third base lines on the field level from 11:40 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The guest bartenders will include current Brewers players Adrian Houser and Daniel Vogelbach, as well as former Milwaukee greats Greg Vaughn and Jim Gantner. Off-the-field Brewers figures David Stearns, Rick Schlesinger, Dan Fumai and Doug Melvin will serve up drinks during the tap takeover, along with local broadcasters Jeff Levering, Lane Grindle, Tim Dillard, Dario Melendez, Sophia Minnaert and Vinny Rottino. And, of course, if beer is involved, Bernie Brewer and Barrelman will make an appearance behind the bar as well.
“In the last homestand, Freddy Peralta took to the taps in our first guest bartender appearance, and the response from fans was tremendous,” Brewers President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger said, in a release. “Sunday is also our Robin Yount bobblehead giveaway, so we are combining two fan favorites – beer and bobbles – for one game.”
Best of all, during the tap takeover, beer prices will transport back in time to their '90s Milwaukee County Stadium amounts.
Tickets for Sunday's game are still available at the Brewers website, the American Family Field box office and by calling 1-800-933-7890. And for some bonus guidance on local bars around the Brewers game, click here.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
