Milwaukee Brewers president of baseball operations and general manager Doug Melvin announced that the organization signed lefty reliever Neal Cotts to a one-year deal. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the deal is worth $3 million.

To add Cotts to the 40-man roster, the organization designated utility infielder Elian Herrera for assignment. 

Cotts, is coming off a career high 73 appearances for the Texas Rangers in 2014, in which he posted a 4.32 earned run average.

The 34-year-old has appeared in 415 career games with three teams, but in his last two years with Texas Cotts has gone 10-12 in 131 games with a 2.84 ERA with a 1.156 WHIP and has limited opposing hitters to a .223 batting average.

Cotts has postseason experience as a key member of the bullpen for the 2005 Chicago White Sox, and he pitched in all four World Series games that year.
