When Rhondi Love opened Edith Cocktail Bar last spring, she had visions of someday hosting live music in the welcoming, swanky space. That time is now.

For the next three Fridays in a row, members of the Milwaukee Jazz Institute will play a live jazz concert at Edith, 228 W. Wells St., from 6 to 9 p.m. The concerts are free.

"Milwaukee Jazz Institute was a great fit for Edith because I believed that they would enhance the cocktail experience I envisioned," says Love. "I always speak about the influence cocktail bars in New Orleans had on Edith, and live jazz was the missing piece."

Here are the upcoming jazz concerts:

  • Friday, Oct. 13 – Andrew Trim and Tim Ipsen
  • Friday, Oct. 20 – Mark Davis and Clay Shaub
  • Friday, Oct. 27 – Paul Silbergleit

"By attending this jazz series people get to experience local musicians playing their hearts out, while enjoying great cocktails," says Love. "And supporting a local nonprofit that works hard to advance jazz in the Greater Milwaukee area as well as a small business that wants to be a place where all lovers of cocktails can gather."
