The latest Wisconsin State Fair headline act to be announced has a definite state flair to it: venerable rocker Steve Miller.

Miller and his band will play the Potawatomi Bingo Casino Main Stage on Tuesday, Aug. 10. Singer / songwriter Dave Mason -- formerly of Traffic -- will open the show at 7:30 p.m.

The Steve Miller Band, fronted by the Milwaukee native, is one of the most popular classic rock bands of the '70s, pumping out well-known hits like "Fly Like an Eagle," "Take the Money and Run," "The Joker," "Jet Airliner," "Swingtown" and "Jungle Love."

Tickets for the show go on sale in the Tommy G. Thompson Youth Center lobby at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 13.

Those purchasing concert tickets can also purchase discounted State Fair admission tickets for just $5 at the same time. Concert tickets do not include admission to the Fair.

The 2010 Wisconsin State Fair runs from Aug. 5 to 15.
