This is our playoff crew, Milwaukee! The Brewers are postseason bound, and after a series win against the New York Mets over the weekend, Milwaukee has officially locked up the three seed in the National League playoff picture. Ahead of the first round Wild Card series, here’s everything you need to know about the Brewers’ postseason run:
Who do the Brewers play?
So the thing is… we don’t know just yet. But the first game is Tuesday. Because of Hurricane Helene, the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves are now scheduled to play a doubleheader on Monday in Atlanta. Those couple of games will determine the final playoff picture. If the Mets win one of those two games, they’ll come back to Milwaukee for Tuesday’s game. If either team wins both games, then Milwaukee will face the Arizona Diamondbacks, who are also waiting on the outcome of those games to determine if they’re in the playoffs or not. Whoever does get to Milwaukee on Tuesday, they’ll likely be a little tired on their way to the ballpark.
When do the Brewers play?
Major League Baseball released the game times for the first three games of the best-of-three series at American Family Field on Sunday night. They are:
- Tuesday at 4:32 p.m.
- Wednesday at 6:38 p.m.
- Thursday at 7:38 p.m.(if necessary)
Yes, those are wonky times, but that’s for broadcasting purposes. If the Brewers win the series, they already know that they would play the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS, with games one and two on October 8th and 9th.
What channels are the Brewers on?
Games one and two will be broadcast on ESPN, and the third game, if necessary, will be on ESPN 2. If you’ve cut the cord, ESPN has their own streaming app, ESPN+, or they’ll be available on YouTube TV as well.
How do I get tickets?
Tickets are already on sale for the Wild Card series at the Brewers website. They’ll be delivered digitally via the MLB Ballpark app.
Which team would we rather play?
Both the Mets and the Diamondbacks are going to finish within a game of one another, or possibly have the same record if the Braves and Mets split the doubleheader. However, the Brewers have lost four games against the Diamondbacks this season, and just one against the Mets, which was this past Sunday. It would also be advantageous for the Brewers to play a team that has had to play in Milwaukee, then get on a plane and play two games in Atlanta, then fly back to Milwaukee for a Tuesday afternoon first pitch. So rooting for both teams to win one game would give the Brewers a more fatigued opponent in New York.
