Seth McClung, former Brewers pitcher (and occasional OnMilwaukee columnist), remembers 2008 very well.
That was the season, after 26 years of a playoff drought, the Brewers clinched the Wild Card on the final day of the season. And Big Red was there.
He’s still a Brewers fan.
On this magical tie-breaking day of Brewers baseball, McClung, who now lives in Florida, put together a very special video about a late-season game he pitched in against the Cubs. By the way, that was 10 years ago. Yeah, we can’t believe it, either.
Wondering what McClung has been up to since he retired in 2014? "I’ve just tried to adjust myself to life after professional baseball," he says. "I’ve stayed close to the game by helping kids develop through lessons and starting my own travel baseball team."
He’s also committed to being a great dad. "Personally, I just focus on being there for my two children Madison (9) and Fallon (7). The adjustment hasn’t been easy, life has been rough at times. I got a divorce that got nasty, I battled through some health issues and some other things here and there."
But he’s also appreciative of his life right now. "The good has been baseball and my children, I’m really blessed and thankful for those aspects of my life," says McClung.
"I think I have had a great story so far, lots of ups and lots of downs, maybe one day I’ll put it all together in a book."
"For now, I just try to post my story and life on Facebook Instagram and Twitter. I try to be an inspiration to parents of ballplayers and the players, themselves, trying to find their way in this game."

Hobbies include running when he finds the time, fixing the rust on his '75 MGB, mowing the lawn at his cottage in the Northwoods, and making an annual pilgrimage to Phoenix for Brewers Spring Training.
